Met haar opvallende verschijningen en video"s weet ze keer op keer de media te halen. Nicki Minaj brak in 2012 definitief door bij het grote publiek met haar door Red One geproduceerde hit single "Starships", afkomstig van het album "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded".
