Er was eens een nieuwe zanger met een ongewone naam, Elvis Presley, die het ritme op een akoestische gitaar speelde, een behendige leadgitarist, Scotty Moore, een nuchtere drummer, D J Fontana en een ondeugende bassist Bill Black en samen maakten ze muziek die de populaire cultuur veranderde. Het album opent met "Blue Suede Shoes" wat een powerhouse track is dat ook de meeste albums die volgden zou kenmerken. Zijn tweede album, 'Elvis', is een nog sterkere collectie dan de eerste plaat. Enkele van Elvis' beste opnames staan op deze plaat, waaronder het smekende 'Love Me', het prachtige 'First In Line'. Verschillende legendarische singles zijn toegevoegd als bonustracks, waaronder 'Hound Dog' en 'Love Me Tender'.
