De twee deelden hetzelfde studentenhuis tijdens hun studie aan de PXL Muziekschool in Hasselt en meer nog, ze deelden dezelfde liefde voor muziek met een specifieke zwak voor het werk van Elliot Smith. Portland, een knipoog naar de thuisbasis van de overleden singer-songwriter, kwam tot leven. Vanaf het begin was het duidelijk dat de chemie tussen Jente en Sarah voelbaar was. Hun stemmen mengen en vullen elkaar aan als een perfect gemixte gin & tonic. Scherp maar rustgevend, verslavend en bedwelmend.Portland nam deel aan en won verschillende lokale talentenwedstrijden voordat ze in 2018 bij [PIAS] zongen. Hun debuutalbum 'Your Colours Will Stain' werd uitgebracht in 2019 tot veel kritische en commerciële bijval. Met een piek op #6 in de Belgische album charts, de melancholische en dromerig popgeluid op singles als 'Killer's Mind', 'Ally Ally' en 'You Misread Me' leidde de band naar de podia van Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop, The Great Escape en verschillende festivals en clubs in de Benelux en Frankrijk.In januari 2022 verhuisde de band naar het Verenigd Koninkrijk om samen met producer Oliver Bayston (Boxed In) hun volgende album op te nemen. Op 'Departures' bloeien Jente en Sarah op als performers en songwriters. De songs zijn meer to the point, maar de melodieën en arrangementen ingewikkelder. Het duo schuift de noodzaak om hun vocale bereik of trucs op elk nummer te tonen terzijde en laat de nummers hun eigen gids zijn en vinden de perfecte toon en harmonie als aanvulling op de melodieën en ritmes.
